"Si Può" Association (Italy)
Si Può has been working for 5 years on the development of tourist facilities for people with special needs, in order to promote a Tourism for Everybody. The name itself implies a shift from focusing on “non-abilities” to focusing on effective "possibilities".
The association is made up by a team of professionals and private entrepreneurs which have been long collaborating with various initiatives related to tourism and disabled people.
The activities implemented at Si Può are aimed at guaranteeing the right of leisure to disabled people and their families, with the purpose to create actual skills which are able to satisfy special needs. For this reason, the interventions are aimed at tour operators involved in the multi-faceted world of tourism for everybody: public administrators, tourist agencies, tour operators, travel agencies, people in charge of accommodation and commercial business, activities which provide public information, voluntary services and social business.
The partner, being in charge of the project, implements and coordinates activities related to the analysis of the needs of users/clients (population and tourists) with special needs towards a hospitable city.
Si Può proposes itself for the detection and redefinition of a methodology for detecting structures and services which contribute to the definition of a hospitable city, elaborating and changing the IG-VAE method into the C.A.R.E. project.
As one of the partners of this project, it contributes to the organization and implementation of the education modules thanks to its know-how as regards accessibility in general and concerning tourism.
The association contributes to communication activities through the creation of rules and regulations for accessibility communication and through the production of news about accessibility. An active commitment also for the realization of the final event.
